REVIEW: TMNT Shredder – Version 2 – SDCC 2013 Exclusive (by Lantern Lad)
From the desk of Lantern Lad:
“The other day I get an email from BBTS saying “SDCC Exclusive TMNT Shredder figure Up Pre-Order“. I, being hopelessly addicted to the TMNT line and cartoon jumped at the chance to pick up the only other SDCC exclusive I missed out on! To my surprise, the figure processed and shipped within 2 weeks time, arriving on my doorstep this afternoon!
This version of the figure is also being released in stores in a non-chromed version later this year, early next year according to the catalogs that come with each figure. So though, you may not get this chrome version, the sculpt and figure are coming!
The package (front):
Very nice 4-color packaging with spot varnish on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles logo. What I wasn’t happy with was that the SDCC2013 Exclusive decal was removed, leaving adhesive goo (ooze, if you will ) and some of the package artwork removed.”
Congrats to Indiana Joe for winning the 1980’s custom with a spot on version of the classic Mr. T.
Congrats to Video Viper for taking the 1970’s title with his GI Joe themed Popeye.
Please congratulate the winners as well as everyone on some terrific customs that brought back some great memories and good times.

This was something I did for the fun of it. I love the new TMNT figures, but the lack of paint apps disappointed me. I saw it as an opportunity to do some custom detailing! Tell me what you think (did I go too far?)!

From the desktop of Lantern_Lad:
“Yesterday I found this little gem and I wanted to take the opportunity to show you what it can do! Personally I think this is what a playset should be… with all of the debate on cost, and shelf space… Playmates has figured out a clever way to keep the cost down while providing a medium sized playset that takes up very little shelf space!
How much space?
In pizza box mode: 9.5″ x 9.5″ x 2.5″
In Anchovy Alley playset Mode: 10″ x 10″ x 18″
Opening the box:
Artwork on the inside flap shows the figures released already and figures coming soon: Snake Weed & Baxter Stockman are some awesome upcoming additions to the collection!”
