From the workshop of Tim 121RVC:

“When I decided to participate in a Ninja-themed contest, I had trouble finding the right ninja to recreate. I somehow encountered the site of Doctor McNinja, a fantastic and hilarious webcomic about a ninja featuring all the cheesy ninja clichés from the eighties. Never heard of him before, but I really LMFAO-ed reading all of his episodes and was convinced this guy had to be my NJC entry.
I really recommend checking out his adventures. If you liked all those retro martial arts / ninja movies, you will certainly appreciate this comic.”

[CUSTOMS] Super Mario and Bullet Bill (by Tim 121RVC)

From the desk of Tim 121RVC

“The classic video game here just needed a custom figure… I just had to make a kart too, because I believe Super Mario Kart is one of the best SNES games out there. That game got a LOT of play time in our house.

My ARAH Super Mario needed an enemy. Bullet Bill appeared in the majority of Mario games and can be seen in some different looks. I chose the classic look to make since that’s how I encountered him the most when playing Super Mario.” If you like video games and you want  to know everything about them check the website from ConceptBB to learn more about games.

March – Featured Syndicate Customizer (Part 2): Tim 121RVC

From the desk of Dark Perceptor:

“Here we go, with the second half of March’s Featured Customizer… another genius o-ring customizer (here at the Syndicate, we like to hoard them): Tim 121 RVC!

First name: Read Inside…

Age: Read Inside…

Where you live: Read Inside…

1) What made you want to start customizing?

One of the first times I was on the net I started to search for G.I.Joe, because that was the only way to complete my ARAH collection. Somehow a came across Joecustoms and I was in shock. I never took a figure apart before, and these guys did do that AND they painted them. Crazy, but very intriguing as well because it widened my G.I.Joe horizon. Started with LBC-ing at first, but it didn’t take long before I got my hands on some paint and a few brushes.

2) Which custom of yours is your pride and joy?

Every custom has a little feature/story/new technique that I like, so I find it hard to pick just one. That would feel like I’m failing all the other ones and all the work I put into them. But to name a few:
Il Nero for the suitcase, Range Viper for the camo scheme, He-man for childhood memories, Shaka Zulu for the use of Max’s head, Gikan for the custom naginata, Rattle B.A.T. because LBC’s are easy and fun, Rudarius because I’m interested in history.”

[CUSTOMS] Mecha-Hitler from Wolfenstein 3D (by Tim 121RVC)

From the desk of Tim 121RVC:

“Sweet memories of the good old Wolfenstein 3D inspired me to make custom. Mecha-Hitler is a stage boss in the game. Hitler in his robotic suit, Mecha-Hitler, gave me the chance to do something useful with those ugly Star Brigade figures. Crankcase’s head looked very similar to Hitler so it was pretty obvious to use that head. I only had to make the ‘stache a little smaller.

The legs were the biggest challenge since I wanted to make them work like any normal G.I.Joe figure. I took a pair of Ryu legs and cut them into pieces so they would fit into the Persuader cannon legs. I wasn’t disappointed by the result at all, now I could pose Mecha-Hitler as if he is walking, kneeling or standing.

The main colour was a bit strange, it took me quite some paint to mix-up and finally get that strange blue-ish colour. I did make a few adjustments, painted some more details red and did some dry-brushing, otherwise he would look a bit boring.”

From the workbench of The Syndicate’s Tim 121RVC:

“Entry for a contest with the subject: Human Form Transformers. Basically, what would Transformers look like in human form? I watched the cartoon a lot as a kid. I remembered Soundwave as the one with that awesome voice (IMO the best cartoon voice in history).”

CUSTOMS: Freddy Krueger (by Tim 121RVC)

To celebrate Friday the 13th, our brother Tim 121RVC gives us an o-ring version of the master of nightmares himself, Freddy Krueger. Be sure to make the jump below and sound off with your comments!

From the desk of Tim 121RVC:

“I started working on this custom just with memories from my mind. As you can see in the WIP and result, I made a few mistakes. I thought Freddy had two hands with five fingered claws, but it was only the right hand with four claws. I found that out right after I primed the parts. CRAP!…  The claws were cut from a piece of plastic, like the one that’s used on carded figures… Blanka’s head had this great evil grin so I got rid of his hair and tortured the skin to make it look like the scarred Freddy. Did the same thing with that hand too. Painted it and used a wash + red paint to make it look “bloody scarred”.

This was a fun contest. I’ve actually never seen a “Nightmare On Elmstreet” movie, but I am familiar with Krueger. Well, except for his claws, that is……”

I’m a big fan of taking GI Joe figures and making them into Sci-fi and Sat Morning Cartoon characters. This custom looks as pure and vintage as anything out there today. Introducing  He-Man from Tim 121RVC.

From the workshop of Tim 121RVC:

“This is my first completely painted custom, I made it about five years ago. A common story: I did like the original Range Viper, but the colours weren’t exactly screaming jungle to me. I found inspiration for the camo in the well known desert camo. I decided to try this in with green instead of tan/brown and I think it turned out pretty good. ”
