One of my favorite figures from what was my golden years of GI JOE, and as it happens the first custom I ever attempted and while my early work won me some kudos more importantly it gave me the encouragement that propelled me on my current path, so I wanted to do an update to that figure worthy of the else and other filling my shelves. Hope you folks enjoy my take on a classic, I give you my modern Tele-Viper.

“Myself and Neuspeaq hit this con hard, arriving early 9 Aug for the preregistration and hotel check in. It was the first TF con I had attended and it was Jose’s first con of any sort.
The crown plaza was great and the pre registration packet was pretty cool, with a convention book, access badge, sharkticon pin, numerous pieces of artwork, a paper build-a-bot of sharkticon, a convention poster and a door prize ticket for the sunday auction, which we sadly did not win but some lucky fuckers took home a fortris maximus, a metroplex, an ironhide and ratchet set, and a limited edition “land shark” figure.
We hung out with some great con goers at the hotel’s birch bar (thoroughly rep’n OG13 and Mayhem Customs), invented a highly poularized con themed shot “the energon explosion” equal parts cranberry, chopin vodka, and hypnotic in a beer glass, drop in shot of redbull and viola!!!….its energon colored and tastes great too. then the fuckers ran out of hypnotic 
I think we were up til about 0430 or so, polished off two bottles of apothic red in an attempt to be sophisticated and headed outside to kick it with the creator of the con exclusive landshark figure, which i managed to score the next day despite the fact we overslept and didnt get in line in time to buy it then. I paid more for it after jose found a guy willing to let it go, but its well worth it, quite a nice lil figure (basically bulk head painted up as a sharkticon with new head and accessories).
Alot of the other stuff i wanted sold out fast, no t shirt, no glass, and a lot of the third party stuff at the dealer tables didnt last long either (guess im ordering my other stunticons on line). I did snag the third party jumpstarters, and this is where it gets cool, i got brian shearer and john wycough aka “waki” to autograph the charticon jumpstarters ambushed by sharkticon poster that they drew for the con. that was the start of a great conversation where in both checked out my custom work via my smart phone and waki asked if i could make him some 40k 1/18th figures. i suggested he illustrate some of my fan fics as compensation and he agreed! this could be the start of something fan-fucking-tastic.”

“Motor Commandos are the enemies fast attack specialists. These expert combat drivers serve as mounted scouts and outriders for convoys and armored columns, and often act as quick reactionary forces. Motor Commandos are trained to operate all tactical ATVs but favor the Strike Cycle for its speed, maneuverability, and armament. The Strike Cycle is a two man, 6 speed, three wheeled assault trike; equipped with twin independent double barrel 20mm auto cannons and a rear mounted 7.62 mini gun which is most often manned by a tactical communications officer. The Strike cycle can reach speeds of 120mph and has a range of approximately 300 miles. Every Motor Commando is an expert infantryman, and a motor cross legend in their own mind. Motor Commandos wear an armored temperature regulated crash suit. Their helmets boast an advance filtration system, and a holographic/fiber-optic heads up display which integrates and updates all battlefield conditions via a state of the art “threat handover system”. “

Once again in the interest of literacy and promoting the ton of talent here in our little slice of Joe paradise I give you “the Words of Winter” fan fiction contest.
Winter has settled in upon the Joe verse, and its time to craft and share a seasonal tale of your favorite heroes and villains as they brave the elements. In 1,000 words or more (type in word document, check the word count, then paste it here…seriously 999 words could disqualify you in a tie) capture the hardship of the harshest winter, and winter being the season of death….I’m going to need a cold weather causality, a bit of sound winter survival advice, and a featured piece of “snivel”, a.k.a. winter survival gear (submissions without these three elements incorporated, while appreciated; wont be eligible for prizes). Additionally provide us with a unique plot and richly crafted characters, that goes without saying, but really put your pen down for this one folks and see if you can score some sweet prizes!
Contest will run now through Midnight (EST) 15 DEC 12…. so as I can get your prizes out the door prior to the yule time.”

Here is a product I soon hope to have available for preorder as me and a group of colaborators (theprocesss, tofujesse, and alyosha) are making our best effort to produce a limited packaged production run. prototypes have shipped and packaging is in its final revision. we should be able to forecast cost and timeline soon; stay tuned! From now until July 31st write a minimum of 1000 words. You’re only other criteria? Your story should involve the death and dying of a core character from the Joeverse; whether it be betrayal, lovers quarel, classic showdown, killed in combat, unforeseen accident…whatever your twisted minds can conjure.
Post your story here in one continuous post; you may edit said post any time until judging begins, edits after 31 July WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. Judging will occur 01-04 August (PM me if youre interested in being a judge, if you judge, YOU CANT ENTER). Prizes (to be announced) will be awarded for first, second, and third place (I’m no slouch with prizes).
Members of other sites feel free to extend the invite, contest is open to all.
