From the workshop of Marine-73:

“Those waterslides on Thrasher were made and given to me by wry1 along time ago before I started printing my own. The lowers are a cast piece meant an Aliens colonial marine custom. i added the spikes that i cut off a random melee weapon I had in my fodder that ended up going to my dreadnok names Reaver I posted tonight also. As for which caster I got them from I believe it was raginspoon. “

From the desk of Mayhem Customs’ Marine-73:

“I wanted to keep loyal to the ARAH original colors but bring his uniform up to date and away from the 80’s. I love the way it turned out.”

featured customizer

We’re breaking new ground this month, as we expand the Featured Customizer to all members of the O-G-1-3… It wasn’t easy choosing one customizer from all the amazing talent we have here, so I went with one of my closest friends, the man who’s partially responsible for starting me down the customizing path… let’s hear a huge OORAH!!! for Marine-73!

First name: Chad

Age: 40

Where you live: Grand Ledge, Michigan

Number of customs completed:

Over the course of the past 14 yrs I have done well over 200+ customs starting out with Toybiz Marvel Age and McFarlane action figures back in 2000. I took a couple years break in 07 and came back in 09 to customize Joes.

Style of customizing:

I customize with idea to stay faithful to the original design and layout of the original character but with a added mmodern feel and look to a degree so when some one looks at the custom they know who it is supposed to be.

“So I have been looking at my shelves lately and it occurred to me that I have been updating all these other 25th characters but have neglected the OG13. with that I started modernizing them but in keeping with the ARAH design ideas as much as I could. Thanks for looking!”

[CUSTOMS] 30th/POC Hit n’ Run (Marine-73)

From the workshop of Marine-73:

“My Hit N Run was inspired by two main reasons. I loved the original when I was a kid. I thought he was badass, the camo, the gear, the ideal of him along with his tough card art was a win for me and seeing as it was the tail end of my collecting back then, he made an impact. So when Hasbro put out the 25th AoCi set, I was left a bit disappointed. Then my hope was renewed last year with the clubs NF convention Hit N Run, but again it left me wanting. Along the same lines of my Flint (darkwise’s note: AWARD-WINNING FLINT), when I saw the Concept Vault, I was determined to make my HnR in the way I would want him on my shelf. I hope you all enjoy him and thank you for the compliments, brothers, they are appreciated.”

I personally have been egging on Marine to post his amazing customs that I was only able to see as small photos sideways, but I knew there was amazing talent in those tiny photos. Starting his custom building with making friends MU customs in the 90’s and evolving to the G.I. Joe line of today. The man has some amazing talent with a paintbrush and a great generosity when it comes to helping out a fellow custom artist. It is my pleasure to present to you Marine-73 Semper Fi Customs!
